Andithasyettospreadwidelyintherestofthenation.TheChineseGovernmentiswellawareofsuchperspectives,andthecentralandlocalgovernmentshaveallocated6.8billionyuan(US$822billion)toestablishandimprovediseasepreventionandcontrolmechanismsinprovinces.Eachyearaspecialfundofmorethan200millionyuan(US$24million)ischanneledintoHIV/AIDSprevention,careandtreatment.SinceApril,freemediciopoorAIDSpatientshasbeendeliveredinregionshithardestbythevirus.JustastheimpactsofAIDSreachessocialandeconomicfieldsofsociety,effectivepreventionalsorequiresunitedeffortsfromvirtuallyallsectors.Keyfactorsneededincludepubliceducation,affordabledrugs,medicaltrainingforhealthcareworkersinhospitalsandthepublichealthsystem,monitoringandevaluation,carefororphans.
