Weng＇sstorytypifiesthebuddyshipbetweensocialinstabilityandextremebehavior.Thebulldozernotonlypulleddownthefamily＇sshelterbuttheirlasthopeofgettingthejusticedoneaswell.Withouthome,withoutfear.Itistheboldnessfromdespairthatignitedthewantonbreachofsocialrule,whichbasicallyesintheformofextremebehaviorlikeself-burning.Turmoil,thestateofrulelessness,thusstarted.

Butwhere＇sthesociety?Hasiteverdonesomethingtostopthetragedy?No!Allwecanseeissilencetilltheburningday.Andtheworseisyettoe.InthecaseofZhangXinpin,adepressedboywhojumpedoutofthebuildingtodeathbecauseofwowingfromthespectators.  Societysimplyfacilitatesthesadendbyinducingthevictimtotheextreme.

Throwthecardsofneglectandinstigationintothetrashbox,andwegetthetrump.Thatisthecareforothers.IfWengBiaohadbeengivenachancetopourhisworrytosomebodyand

thatpersonofferedtolendahand,thefirecouldprobablyhavebeenavoidedeventhoughthedemolitionwenton.Why?Becauseasenseofbeingcaredaboutisgained.Weng,formerlyfoughtbyhimself,nowfoundsomethingtorelyon.Similarly,ifthesocietyapproachestheextremist-to-be,listenstohissufferinganddoessomesupportivethings(fortingwords,donation..,anythingwilldo),thehorribledecision,onceasstiffasapoker,willmostlybegivenup.

Yet,theproblemisnotover.Whatiftheextremebehaviorreallyhappens?Whichroleshouldthesocietyplay?

First,thedignityofthevictimhimselfdeservesfullrespect.Blamingthevictimforhisstupidityonlyirritatesthekindofpeoplesharingthesamesuffering.

Second,thecauseoftheeventshouldbepublicizedifithasanythingtodowithmostpeople＇sinterest.Otherwise,Rumorswillerodepeople＇strustinthesocietywhileturmoilcanwellbestirredupbythewidespreadanxiety.

Last,theproblemthatbringsaboutthetragedyissupposedtogetasolution.Itcanbetheestablishmentandmodificationoflaws,orsimplymoreattentiontothegroupofpeopleinneed.

Itcountshowwedotocurbtheextremebehaviorforthesakeofsocialstability.Thebestpolicy,asIsaidbefore,istocareforthepeopleintrouble,maketheeventknowntothepublicifnecessaryandhealthedefecthiddenbehind.

这是一篇很有特色的GRE作文。一提起GRE作文，很多同学马上就将其与academicwriting，与goodreadEnglish等同起来。因此，很多同学拼命写出一些连自己都似懂非懂的非常正式的句子。因为不懂，这些句子其实自己很难写出来；惟一的门路只有靠“模板”——用模板“拼”文章。这样制造出来的文章难免千人一面，难免有抄袭嫌疑，也就难怪一些考G同学被判“死刑”，一些写作本来不错的同学考试归来成绩平平，大呼郁闷。其实对ETS评分标准稍有研究的人都知道最重要的是思想内容的深刻思路清晰。另外，这篇文章的语言也非常有特色：tomoveornottomove;andtheworseisyettoe等精炼的句子都显示出作者深厚的英语功底。
