Withtherapiddevelopmentofourcountryinrecentyears,thenumberofruralresidentswhopourintobigcitiestofindjobsisincreasingsoastomeetthegrowingdemandoflaborsincitiesconstruction.Theserural"immigrants"findtheirjobsinvariousfields:theyworkonconstructionsites,serveinrestaurantsandhairsaloonsdoingthelower-rankingjobs.Theyrendercitiesanewsourceoflaborforceandpouredcitieswithnewvigor.Thisphenomenonhasagreatimpactoncitiesandarousedpublioncerns.Itseemshardtotellwhetheritisablessingoracurse.

Somecitydwellersdon＇tweletheseruralimmigrants.Theylookdownuponthemandalwaysfindfaultwiththem.It＇sundeniablethatmanyproblemsemergedwiththeiring.Wecanalwaysfindruralworkerswhosleeponthepavement,whoaresloppilydressedinpublicplacesandwhodon＇tobeytrafficlaws.Someofthemdon＇thaveasenseofsocialorderandactthewaytheylike.  Thosewhodiscriminateagainstruralworkersplainthattheydeterioratetheimageandstatusofbigcities.Somecitizensalsobelievethattheyarethechiefculpritsoftherisingcrimerate.It＇sinevitablethatnoteveryruralworkerispetitiveenoughforajobandsomemayruntheriskofviolatinglawstogainillegalines.

However,inmyhumbleopinion,thedemeritsoftheruralinvasioncouldnotwipeoutthemeritsthattheyhavemadegreatcontributionstotheprogressofoursociety.Weshouldnotfetthearduousworktheytakeontomakeourcitybeautifulandmodern.Weshouldnotfettheirdevotiontothebasionstructionofoursociety.Withheartandsoul,theysacrificetheirwholeyouthwithoutanyplaints.Thus,theycannotmerelybeevaluatedbythedemeritstheybrought.Withouttheseindustriousworkers,skyscraperscouldnothavebeenerected;roadscouldnothavebeenpaved；bridgescouldnothavebeenbuilt.Therefore,Iwanttoremindthosewhodiscriminateagainstruralworkers,theprosperityofthecitiesowesalottothem  theconstructorsofourbeautifulcityandthebuildersofourprosperouslife.  Itisgratitudeandrespectweneedtoshowtheseheroes,notdisdain.

Chinahasalargepopulationof1.3billion,ofwhich900millionliveinruralareas.Mostoftheruralresidentsarestillstrugglingunderthepovertyline.  Theimmigrantshaveheavyburdenstosupporttheirpoorfamilies.  Workingincitiesisagoodopportunitybutalsoagreatchallengeforthesenewers.Thechallengenotonlyliesinsurvivalbutalsointherelationshipwithlocalresidents.Somecityhabitantsdisdainruralworkers,whiletheruralworkersalsohaveadeepprejudiceagainstus.Bothsidesneedbetterunderstandingandmoremunication.Iftherewerenoprejudice,therewouldbemoreunderstandingandrespectandtherewouldbenoconflicts.
