三, Teaching procedure
Stage 1 Revision
1.Talk about seasons and weather:
What’s the weather like in …?/ How is the weather in …?
It’s warm/cold /hot/cool.
It’s a good time/season for doing /to do...
We can do…
Which season do you like best?
2.Enjoy the poem “The light Rain” . Lead to new lesson.
Stage 2 Pre-listening
Step 1 Present some words about weather, like “rain sun snow wind…on the blackboard.
Then let students match them with “rainy sunny snowy windy…
Encourage them to find the rules: noun + y = adjective
Step 2 Practice the adjective words in the sentences, adding the places, such as: London Beijing Fujian Sanya…
A:What’s the weather like in …?/ How is the weather in …?
B:It’s rainy /sunny /snowy /windy…
Stage 3 While- listening
Step 1 Students look at the picture ,Askand answer:
Q1:Who is Michael calling? A. His Mom
B. His aunt
Q2:What will you usually talk about with your family members on the phone?
Step 2 Listen for the first time and check the answers.
Step 3 Listen for the second time , answer following questions. Let students guess the meanings of ”raincoat, put on ,outside”.
1, What’s the weather like in Beijing today?
2, How was the weather yesterday?
3,Does Michael need to put on his raincoat when he goes outside?
Step 4 Check the answers together.
Pay attention to ”is” and “was” in the two sentences.
Step 5 Listen for the third time ,students read after the CD.
And underline te new patterns in the books.

Step 7 Divide the students into two halves to read the dialogue.
