一，Teaching aims and demands:

100%students can master :cloudy snowy foggy sunny windy rainy bright low temperature
2, Review the simple past tense and present continues tense. 70% students can use the tense correctly.

3, Learn to understand weather reports.70%students can say the report freely.
4,Students would like to care about the weather and take care themselves and others.

Teaching difficulties: How to say the sentences and make the weather report freely.

三， Teaching procedure

Stage 1 Revision
1.Talk about seasons and weather:
What’s the weather like in …?/ How is the weather in …?
It’s warm/cold /hot/cool.
It’s a good time/season for doing /to do...
We can do…
Which season do you like best?
2.Enjoy the poem “The light Rain” . Lead to new lesson.

Stage 2 Pre-listening
Step 1 Present some words about weather, like “rain sun snow wind…on the blackboard.
Then let students match them with “rainy sunny snowy windy…
Encourage them to find the rules: noun + y　= adjective
Step 2 Practice the adjective words in the sentences, adding the places, such as: London Beijing Fujian Sanya…
A:What’s the weather like in …?/ How is the weather in …?
B:It’s rainy /sunny /snowy /windy…

Stage 3 While- listening
Step 1 Students look at the picture ,Askand answer:
Q1:Who is Michael calling? A. His Mom
B. His aunt
Q2:What will you usually talk about with your family members on the phone?
Step 2 Listen for the first time and check the answers.
Step 3 Listen for the second time , answer following questions. Let students guess the meanings of ”raincoat, put on ,outside”.
1, What’s the weather like in Beijing today?
2, How was the weather yesterday?
3,Does Michael need to put on his raincoat when he goes outside?
Step 4 Check the answers together.
Pay attention to ”is” and “was” in the two sentences.
Step 5 Listen for the third time ,students read after the CD.
And underline te new patterns in the books.
Step 6 Learn new sentences “How are things going?” .”Remember to …”
Step 7 Divide the students into two halves to read the dialogue.

Stage 4 Post-listening
1. Finish 1c.
Step 1 Students practice 1a with their partners.
Step 2 Teach new word “bright”.

2. Finish 2a and 2b.
Step 1 Use the picture to teach “low, temperature” and “The lowest temperature is…and the highest temperature is…”, “It’s between ..and..”.
Step 2 Listen to 2a,fill in the blanks, then check the answers.
Step 3 Practice 2a in pairs.
Step 4 Work in four ,look at the picture ,finish 2b.Thenchenck the answers.
3 .Finish 3.
Step 1 Brainstorm. Let students say the words about weather as many as possible.
Step 2 Listen to 2a for twice, fill in the blanks.
Step 3 Check the answers.
Step 4 read the listening dialogue, explain the difficulties.

Stage 5 Home work
Step 1 Students consolidate the points in this lesson after school.
Step 2 1. Revise the words and phrases.
