Anotherreasonisthatpeoplechange,astheygrowolder.Afteryearsofhardwork,ourparentssurelylookforwardtoastableandpeacefullife.Vigorandenthusiasmwanedastheyage.Onthecontrary,we＇restandingatthestartingpointofourlives.Nodoubt,we＇reeagertodiscoverthebrandnewworldopeningtous,andlongforpetitionandchallenge.Whenitestothedecision-makinginlife,divergencebetweenourparentsandusemerges.

AsfarasIamconcerned,themostdeterminatefactorofallisthatthegenerationgapreflectstheyoung＇sdesiretobeindependentoftheold.Takemystoryasanexample.Oneoftheprivilegesyougetfromstudyinginaforeignlanguageschoolisthatyoumayhaveanopportunitytoberemendedtoenteroneofthetop-rankinguniversitiesinChina,withouttakingtheEntranceExam.Well,myparentssuggestedthatItakethisopportunitysoastoplayitsafe,forfearthatImightperformnotwellenoughintheEntranceExam.Icanstillremembertheeagerdesirefromthebottomofmyhearttomakemyowndecision,tochoosemyownwayandtoberesponsibleformyownlife.Withoutcarefulconsideration,Iturneddowntheirsugges-tion,makingthemworryalot.Aftermonthsofintensivestudy,I,luckily,touchedmygoalandenteredFudanuniversity.
